Our Accommodations Posh Primitive has custom made, log-embellished canvas wall tents for guests each with a hand-crafted timber bed platform and queen-size mattresses. There are fresh linens, comforters and classic Pendelton wool blankets. The tents have antiques and rustic furnishings made by local craftspeople that provide organic utilitarian aesthetic. Each canvas cabin has an easy to use woodstove and all sites are stocked with seasoned firewood for stoves and outdoor fires. The best in basics, not too much, more than enough. Posh Primitive is the base camp from which many activities can happen. We are centrally located in the Southern Adirondack mountains. There are numerous rafting companies for whitewater rafting trips, public launch sites on local lakes for paddling flat water, and fishing in nearby rivers and streams. Additionally, we are close to hiking trails and can help you plan your daily outings based on experience and desire. We have the convenience of having our own in-house guide service for those who want the expertise of a professional. Johnny Old School Guide Service has been leading backcountry trips throughout the park, every season for more than fifteen years. Custom trips are available to all guest at Posh Primitive.
