Description:

Euston Park Social Beer Garden, Moncton, New Brunswick The best journey you take is home.   And home they came.  New Brunswickers Chef Gene and Susan Cormier decided to plant a shipping container in an area 0f Moncton that needed a neat beer garden with great food.  After years of travelling our journey has brought us back to what we love the most, gourmet camping trips, leisurely dinners with great friends and family and the relaxed East Coast lifestyle. We bring our culinary travels, love of the outdoors and innovative food and beverage to create a place to slow down, take a breath and enjoy great company. It s a simple concept you order at the window and find a picnic table.  Named after the street Euston Park, the restaurant is close to not only the Hal Betts Sportsplex but also the Petitcodiac River. The beers are all locally brewed from Flying Boats and Pump House to Grand Monk, Celtic Knot and Cavok.  There s also the delicious Verger Belliveau Cider. Like the beers, the menu is simple and hyper-local. Try the smoked herring banh mi with shellfish brandade or a pork schintzel burger.  There s a community salad from a number of New Brunswick farms with an ice wine dressing. They ve taken their hospitality to two other locations Parlee Beach and their new downtown restaurant Clos! They each have their own personalities..sandy/summery; community/fun and absolutely elegant. It s great to have the Cormiers take part in this year s Food Day Canada ~ Journée des terroirs. Aside from being a country eatery, they create and sell a line of products derived from wild plants and mushrooms at a farmer’s market stall at Marché Jean Talon in Montreal. Chef Nancy Hinton, a constant winner of the University of Guelph Innovation Gold Award, grew up in Quebec City and trained under the tutelage of Quebec s star Chef Anne Desjardins. Nancy writes: I first set foot into his ‘table champêtre’ in ’93 as a guest chef, when it was a casual meeting place for friends, foodies and chefs, a laboratory of sorts. For the following years, I would take my autumn vacation time to stage our wild mushroom event, which has since become a wild success. At the end of 2005, I took the reins of his kitchen, readily realizing that there was no better place to cook. Low key, but real, with quality at my fingertips. This was slow food, terroir, locavore and ecolo before and beyond all the buzz words. I was embracing the philosophy, while for François, it was just the way you did things. As a team, we now showcase these local and unique ingredients in tasting menus on the weekends. The menu changes weekly and is a set prix fixe, five to seven courses, bring your own wine. Taught by his grandmother, Brouillard has been picking weeds as long as he has... Read more George, Toronto Lorenzo Loseto is one of Canada’s culinary giants.
