TWRI Policy and Research Staff Dr Kadhem Jallab Managing Director Kadhem Jallab managed TWRI Policy and Research for over 10 years when it was a Public Sector Research Unit.   In September 2011, Kadhem, became the Owner and the Managing Director of  “TWRI Policy and Research”.   TWRI is now  a National and International research and policy Company. Kadhem has a Master degree in Statistics from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh and a PhD degree in Statistics from Newcastle University. Peter Sturman Operations Manager After over 30 years' in research in Local Government, Peter Sturman re-joined TWRI Policy Research in 2015.   He is the Operations Manager. Peter was a Senior Researcher at TWRI for 14 years, responsible for economic monitoring and reporting, when it was a Local Government Research Unit. He has since had 3 years’ experience working in a Local Authority social services Management Information Unit. He was then a Project Officer in local government, successfully focused on developing the Business Case for an investment.     Read more... Chris Stephens Associate Director (Statistical Analysis) Chris is the Associate Director of TWRI Research with particular responsibility for Census material and Demography. His main roles are to analyse and interpret social and other data, including Census and other demographic data. This includes monitoring change. Chris has an honours degree in Mathematics, from Leicester University, and a Masters degree in Statistics from Newcastle University. He has been a Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society since 1972. He specialises in economic development, regeneration, enterprise and urban planning based on knowledge that he has accumulated during an action packed career spanning local, regional and national government, academia and consultancy. He is a Chartered Town Planner (MRTPI) and Chartered Economic Development practitioner (MIED). He is also a member of the Regional Studies Association (RSA), Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE), Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) and Urban Design Group (UDG). Joan is an ex Tyne  Wear Research and Information (TWRI) Senior Researcher with particular expertise in data management and manipulations. Joan joined TWRI back in 1986 when it was first established. She has extensive expertise, understanding and capabilities in Community Safety Data (Crime, Recorded Incidents, Victims, Offenders, Fire, Probations data etc.) including sourcing, cleansing and disseminations. Neil Fletcher Associate Director (Skills) Neil has a wide experience of the public sector at national, regional and local levels. After qualifying as a school-teacher he taught in secondary schools and further education, before becoming a full-time trade union official and an elected councillor in London. He became Deputy Leader of Camden Council, but also served as an elected member of the Inner London Education Authority for 11 years, chairing the Further and Higher Education Committee for 7 years and becoming Leader until its abolition in 1990.  Read more...
