North Dakota Studies seeks to promote the teaching and learning about the geography, history, and government of North Dakota. 4th Grade North Dakota Studies The North Dakota Studies program at the State Historical Society of North Dakota promotes teaching and learning about the geography, history, government, current issues, and citizenship of North Dakota.A series of 4th Grade North Dakota Studies units is available as a resource on the people, places, events, and fascinating history of North Dakota. 8th Grade North Dakota Studies The North Dakota Studies program at the State Historical Society of North Dakota offers resources on the people, places, events, and fascinating history of North Dakota.To complement and extend the North Dakota Studies experience, North Dakota: People Living on the Land has been uniquely designed and developed to be both a chronological and thematic approach to studying North Dakota Studies. Read, analyze, and become your own historian. High School North Dakota Studies North Dakota History: Readings about the Northern Plains State is a print textbook available for high school students and lifelong learners. It is a discussion of the state's geography, history, and agriculture and is an ideal resource to help schools meet the high school course requirement for North Dakota studies. Online primary document sets are also available to supplement the textbook.Online curriculum guides for the study of the history and culture of North Dakota's four tribal nations are also available. These include "The History and Culture of the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Sahnish," "The History and Culture of the Standing Rock Oyate," "The History and Culture of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa," and "The History and Culture of the Mni Wakan Oyate" (Spirit Lake).
