There are three courses: SaddleBrooke, Tucson and Catalina, which may be played in any combination to create a unique golf experience. Renovated in 2011, the Tucson Nine is regarded as the most challenging of the three courses in SaddleBrooke. The course offers stunning views of the Catalina Mountain range from every hole. This nine is highlighted by hole #4, a strong par 4 requiring a tee shot over a pond to a sloping fairway with gorgeous mountain views in the background. The course challenge lies in the deep bunkers which await an errant shot and the length of the course. Renovated in 2010, the SaddleBrooke Nine offers westward views of spectacular sunsets. This course is characterized not by length but rather by placing a premium on accuracy as is evidence by the signature hole #2 – only 125 yards in length requiring all carry over a pond. The SaddleBrooke Nine is the most requested nine for its fair yet challenging layout. The newest of all three nines, the Catalina course features three par 3 holes and plays to a par of 35. The course wanders through natural arroyos and brings the golfer close up views of the Catalina Mountain range. The signature hole #5 is a risk-reward par 5 featuring a second shot which must carry 250 yards to clear the ditch in the fairway. The Catalina Nine offers a wide variety of golf shots and is regarded among residents as the best layout of the three courses. Centrally located at the southeast corner of SaddleBrooke Blvd and Ridgeview, the Tennis Center is the hub of tennis activities. With its large patio, gas grill, ice machine, bulletin boards and restrooms, the Tennis Center is the place to gather for social events and watch tennis in the shade. You can reserve the patio for other activities such as parties. The office has TV, coffee and comfy places to sit. The Tennis Club actively manages the tennis court usage within SaddleBrooke (Eight courts at the SaddleBrooke Tennis Center and 11 other courts located within SaddleBrooke). Membership in the SaddleBrooke Tennis Club is open to all residents of SaddleBrooke but membership is not a requirement to use the courts. There are nineteen tennis courts at four different sites throughout SaddleBrooke One and Two. The Tennis Center has eight courts, MountainView has five courts, DesertView has four courts and the Preserve has two courts. There are ball machines at SaddleBrooke and MountainView. There is a backboard at one of the Preserve courts. Organized Play is the primary activity of the club. The program allows members to register for OP sessions on the STC website and be assigned to computer-generated doubles matches according to their skill level. Men’s sessions take place on Tuesday and Thursday, women’s sessions on Monday and Friday, and Mixed Doubles on Saturday. The Club Championship is an annual event held over a two or three-week time period, depending on the format that year. Volunteer STC-member Pros/Instructors conduct 90-minute clinics weekly. The format, level and instructor will vary each week and will be announced via email. Members must reserve a place by calling a coordinator or signing up at the Tennis Center. Social tennis events are often held on holidays with two hours of play followed by food and fellowship. The STC members love any excuse for a party so talented volunteers create fun formats of play and themed fiestas. Within the SaddleBrooke community, you will find several restaurants for dining choices from morning to evening. At SaddleBrooke One, the casual RoadRunner Grill and patio offers breakfast and lunch. There are themed evenings and special events scheduled on the patio which overlooks the golf course. For your evening dining pleasure, the place to relax and order from a wide-selection of menu items is upstairs in The Vistas Dining and The Agave Lounge with its twilight views of the Catalina Mountains. You can even choose to order meals to go, six days a week. Menus are updated frequently and posted to the Residents Website. Gourmet pizza is found at Brooke One Pizza Kitchen. Happy hours are available in the Vistas seven days a week from 3-5pm and the Road Runner Grill Monday-Friday from 3-5pm. Frequently offered, special culinary events feature wine tasting, creative menus and themed dinners. Meet your friends for dinner, plan a special event dinner or just stop by for a spur-of-the-moment snack. All of that is within easy reach at our SaddleBrooke restaurants. The RoadRunner Grill's extensive menu offers residents favorite soups, salads, specialty sandwiches and All-American classics. There are many services available within SaddleBrooke. The communities of Catalina and Oro Valley are just a short drive away. Or you can drive a bit further to Tucson where you will find all the businesses and leisure of a large city. SaddleBrooke patrols keep watch. They are not law enforcement officers, but they regulate traffic and help keep the community safer. The enforcement of the SaddleBrooke One rules is aided by the patrols. They respond to incidents, accidents, and injury reports. As an additional courtesy, they maintain a confidential list of emergency contacts supplied by the home owners, perform home checks at the request of residents, and notify residents when they have inadvertently left their garage doors open late at night. SaddleBrooke is served by Golder Ranch Fire District. There are two fire stations within SaddleBrooke that are staffed 24/7. In addition to responding to fire and emergency medical calls, the firemen graciously give their time to educate the residents on safety issues, remove unwanted desert creatures from yards, change light bulbs in hard to reach vaulted ceilings, and replace batteries in smoke detectors. Deputies of the Pinal County Sheriff are frequently seen patrolling SaddleBrooke in addition to responding to calls for assistance. They maintain a substation in the SaddleBrooke business center. The Business Center is in the heart of the community.
