If you have a child who still wants to play travel soccer, please reach out to Jody Greenblatt, our travel soccer commissioner.Please read the letter belowfrom Jody Greenblatt, CHYSC Travel Soccer Commissioner, regarding plans for the Fall 2020 travel season.Dear Chestnut Hill Youth Sports Club families,I hope this email finds you well.It may seem strange given the uncertainty in the world, but we are opening registrationfor travel soccer. Our local soccer organization, ICSL, is planning for the fall season which requires us to register teams and get ready for fall. This email is lengthy, but I ask that you read it in its entirety.I wanted to highlight a few things.1.We know there may not be a soccer season.2.We understand that families may be experiencing financial difficulties3. We know that many players were looking forward to tryouts to move from White to BlueTryouts:Given the current environment, I had a meeting with the travel soccer committee (comprised of coaches and other volunteers). We decided that there will beno tryoutsfor the 2020-2021 soccer season. If you had a place on a team last year, you will have a place on the same team this year, assuming we have the numbers to field that team. This is whyregistering ASAP is crucial. We need time to look at numbers and to evaluate where there may be gaps.We are developing a procedure for dealing with instances where there may be an open slot on a Blue team and for new players. I ask that at this time, you give us a few weeks to determine whether there are spots before asking that your child be given the opportunity to move to Blue. If numbers are low on a team we are also looking at consulting with other area soccer clubs to fill out rosters.Registration fees:We are keeping registration at the same cost as last year. When you register you will have the option to pay in full or pay in two installments. It s important to note that CHYSC still has to pay ICSL when we register.If the season is cancelled, we will refund the costs of registration. We have not yet determined how a partial season will be addressed. Uniforms:CHYSC moved to a new uniform company prior to basketball season. Unfortunately they do not carry our existing travel soccer uniform. I have been working with Soccer.com to choose a new uniform. There will also be a spirit store that allows you to purchase warm ups and other items that can be personalized. The uniform will actually cost less than the old uniform and will be shipped directly to your home. We are a community organization of over fifteen hundred families devoted to providing team sports for our children.
