We're talking Ski Day- Covid Edition.Alumni from the Faculties of Engineering and Science are once again invited to the beautiful Osler Bluff Ski Club in Collingwood for a fantastic day on the slopes. Thank you to alumnus Yeti Agnew, BSc ’75 for sponsoring this activity once more. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, and social distancing guidelines, this will NOT be an official UW alumni event. University of Waterloo staff will not be present because of University of Waterloo COVID-19 travel restrictionsSignificant changes for 2021 due to COVID-19: Registration limited to 100 tickets ONLY, first come/first serve basis. Each alumnus may only register for a maximum of 4 full day tickets. Each skier/snowboarder must be listed during registration. Registration deadline is Monday, January 18, 2021. No substitutions or additions past this date. No walk-ins available on January 22. Registered tickets will be available for pick up and payment at Osler Bluff day-of at the MAIN LODGE.  The Orchard Lodge is NOT available this year. Lockers, change rooms will not be available.  Visitors may not leave any personal items in the clubhouse, so come to the hill dressed to ski. Washrooms are available. There will not be an organized UW race, or apres ski this year. A COVID-19 screening document for each skier must be filled out via the Club's website. This document will be available 24 hours in advance of the day and you will be sent an email with the link to the online document. The Club will not admit anyone who has not completed this document in advance.  Lodges and chair lifts both have capacity restrictions; please follow all rules as set out by the Club and the region's health department for capacity in the lodges. Masks will need to be worn while in the lift lines as well as on the lifts. Up to 4 people can ride the chair if they are in the same family, social bubble or are cohorts, otherwise they must ride in singles. The food line in the Main Lodge will be open for purchasing food but you are encouraged to bring your own packed lunch and eat it outside as inside spaces are very limited. The Club has plenty of picnic tables and outdoor fire pits available for eating outdoors. If you do need to order from the food line, you're encouraged to pre-order your food using their mobile app to avoid line ups - more information coming soon.Jan.28, 2021New Faculty Lecture Series Come meet our newest faculty membersThe Faculty of Science is proud to announce a new, complimentary online lecture series that highlights the incredible new talent in our midst.  Over the coming months, we will be hosting a series of talks from a wide range of topics that introduce you to our latest lecturers, researchers and future stars of the Faculty.All upcoming events The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples.
