Join Our CommunityThe first step in collegiate recovery is to connect with others who have experienced a similar journey. Our community is filled with unique individuals who have one thing in common: their lived experience in recovery. Collegiate Recovery ScholarshipsCollegiate Recovery and Intervention Services offers scholarships to students pursuing early recovery on campus. Scholarships are an important aspect of the support we provide to students. National Recovery MonthSeptember is National Recovery Month. This national movement is designed to increase awareness and support for those recovering from a substance use disorder. CRIS is proud to be a part of this historic effort. Sober TailgateThe Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) tailgate is located on the Quad, steps away from Denny Chimes and University Boulevard. Yellow balloons, a concert tradition, fly high over our tent to signify a sober location. Guest Speaker SeriesThe guest speaker series highlights individuals in long-term recovery who share their personal stories as inspiration for our campus community. Supporters of RecoverySupporters of the University of Alabama Recovery Model share our desire to help students tap into their strength, hope, and courage to live life one day at a time. We thank our "supporters of recovery" for sharing our commitment to our students. CRC Virtual Meetings During COVID-19The CRC is committed to maintaining community and support throughout this time of uncertainty. Check out the list of weekly virtual meetings that are unique to the CRC and nationally known. OutreachCRIS provides a variety of programming to educate the campus and the local community. Presentations are available on a variety of topics related to alcohol and other drug use and the recovery process. Family FocusFamily Focus is a monthly newsletter devoted to assisting families in recovery rebuild their family from a wellness perspective. Each month an inspirational message for family recovery provides great ideas to reflect upon.
