Good Thursday morning. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends. I like to make simple thank you cards that reflect the holiday but are not necessarily Christmas. The simplicity of the Impression Obsession Snowflake Cutout set along with the Thank You from the Greetings Bottom Word Edgers set make a perfect winter card that is fast and easy to make and easy to mass produce. There is also a Greetings Top Word Edgers set that could be easily used as well.I secured the three snowflake dies and cardstock on the platform and ran through my Big Shot. The Thank you die was placed on the edge of red cardstock and ran through the Big Shot. The snowflake layer was attached to the red sentiment layer using ATG adhesive. Both layers were attached to the card base with ATG adhesive. The Snowflake Cutout set also comes with a frame for each snowflake so they can be cut to create full snowflakes like in my project below. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great day.Card size: 5.50” x 4.25” Good Christmas morning. I searched my files to find my all time favorite Christmas project made using the Cottage Cutz Mountain Lodge set and Rustic Sign and Trees set. I put lots of work into creating this snowy mountain lodge scene but it was well worth it. We have been having mild weather here in Florida with the highs in the low 80s and lows in the 50s. The only way I can dream of a white Christmas is to look back on all of my fun snowy holiday projects from the past.Bob and I wish you all a very blessed and merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here is a link to the original September 3, 2012 blog post with full description of how I made this wonderful snowy lodge scene. Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession “Anything Goes” design team challenge. I decided to pull out my Pine Sprig Cluster and Wreath Builder sets to create a clean and simple yet old-fashioned mini pine wreath card with red berries and a gingham multi loop bow. I love the pine set so much that when it was released a few years ago I got four sets so I could multiple pine branches at once. I know…..I’m a die nut! I started by cutting out the circle wreath base, pine branches and berry branches. I applied Nuvo Red Berry Crystal Drops to the berries and set them aside to dry. I began creating the wreath by attaching the branches to the wreath base using glossy accents. The branches are attached in a pattern –straight, left, right and repeated over and over again around the circle until the full wreath base is covered. The pictures below are from a previous project using a different branch but the pattern remains the same no matter what branch you use. The pattern gives the wreath a even fullness all the way around. When you get near the finish the branches have to be lifted up and the final rows attached with the same pattern until complete.Once the wreath is complete you can decorate with any kind of embellishments you wish. I like the plain old-fashioned look of the gingham, pine and berries. I attached the multi loop bow to the wreath with glue dots and then tucked the berry branches in between the pine branches and attached using glossy accents. The double matted frame was attached to the card base using strips of mounting tape. The wreath was attached to the card base using glossy accents. I started by securing the sprinkle stamp and paper in my MISTI and stamping several times to create a decorative background layer. I attached the layer to the card base using ATG adhesive. I cut the Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables layer, secured it in my MISTI and stamped the sentiment. I attached the sentiment layer to the red layer using ATG adhesive and then applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back and attached to the card base.I cut the cupcake top out in white and the bottom in red. I crimped the bottom to add dimension. I applied white embossing paste to the top using a Sofft spatula. When the paste was totally dry I attached the tiny heart sprinkles all over it using glossy accents. I cut two little leaves off of a stem from the Impression Obsession Leaves and Stems set and attached it along with one additional heart to the tippy top of the cupcake with glossy accents for a sweet embellishment. I think this looks good enough to eat. I am hoping there is a chocolate cake underneath all that frosting. You should have arrived here from Justine’s post and the next stop on the hop will be Karen’s post. You can check back to the CLASSroom blog or Concord 9th blog for the complete hop order. Thanks for coming by and I sure hope you enjoy seeing all the wonderful designs made with this sweet set.Card size: 5.50” x 4.25” Good Saturday afternoon. My project today is a snowy Christmas house scene made using the Impression Obsession Brick House, Square House, Snowy Roof, Pine Sprig Cluster, Fir Sprigs, Evergreen Trees and Cardinals. The frame was made the Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables and Nestabilities Matting Basics B. I went with all white for the house and background so the red and green would really pop.I assembled the windows, drapes and door and attached to the front of the house using glossy accents. I applied white embossing paste to the roof and chimney section with a Sofft spatula and sprinkled with clear glitter to add sparkle. I applied Cosmic Glitter Glue to the icicles and sprinkled with glitter. When dry the roof and icicles were attached together using double stick tape. I applied touches of embossing paste to the windows and applied glitter. The trees were crimped and then covered with paste and glitter. All the pieces were set aside to dry. I attached tiny springs of fir and red berries to the windows and applied touches of red glitter. I cut the tips off several fir sprigs and hand cut a tiny circle wreath base. I attached the tiny sprigs to the circle with glossy accents and then finished with red berries with red stickles and a handmade red bow made with thin strips of red cardstock. The wreath was attached to the front of the house with glossy accents.I lined up the scalloped rectangle and matting basics rectangle on my big shot using my magnetic platform and cut the frame. I hand cut a ground snow piece using my deckle scissors and attached it to the back of the frame using double stick tape. I masked off the frame around the ground snow section to protect it and applied embossing paste and glitter. I applied thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base. I tucked the house in behind the ground piece and attached with mounting tape. I attached the trees on both sides of the house using mounting tape and glue dots. I finished by adding the cardinal to the sky area using glossy accents. This was a time consuming card to make but oh what fun it was for me. I especially love the look of the snow covered crimped trees. Do you own a crimper and have it buried so far deep in your crafting space that don’t even remember you have one? I know it is considered an old-fashioned tool but I love how it adds dimension and interest. Thanks for coming by and I hope you have a great Saturday.
