The California Healthcare Performance Information System (CHPI) has ceased operations, and this website is no longer active. CHPI was multi-stakeholder, multi-payer and independently governed non-profit whose mission was to serve as a trusted source of healthcare information. CHPI was able to pioneer the first program in the U.S. to produce individual physician results using multi-payer, multi-specialty data. Data was collected on 10.7M commercial and Medicare members in California, and ratings were produced on over 10,000 physicians. This performance information was provided to the public free of charge, allowing consumers access to much-needed transparency. Unfortunately, several challenges have become insurmountable and continuing to operate the program would require a significant investment of resources.
