welcome to the angler’s resort

Angler’s Resort has been known to generations as a bass fishing resort, and as it celebrates its 50th birthday, it is taking on new life. Under new ownership, many improvements have been made with the construction of an entirely new motel called the Gator Den Motel, bait & tackle shop, and the selection of boat rentals as well as the new Blue Gator Tiki Bar & Restaurant right on the River.

The Gator Den Motel is on the banks of the Withlacoochee River, approximately 3/4 mile from where it is joined by the Rainbow River in Dunnellon, Florida. Dunnellon has long referred to itself as “the bass capital of the world”. Fishermen continuously pull trophy-size, lunker bass from the dark waters of the Withlacoochee and the clear waters of the Rainbow Rivers.

During your visit to the Gator Den Motel at Angler’s Resort, you’ll have many opportunities for fun activities. Besides fishing for bass, there are many other species of fish in these waters, including several types of catfish, crappie, gar, and a variety of other pan fish. Swimming and snorkeling are always favorites (the underwater visibility on the Rainbow River is amazing!). Thousands of people each year float down the Rainbow River in inner tubes. Rainbow Springs State Park is a few miles north of town, and often has weekend activities going on in addition to the beauty of the headsprings of the Rainbow River.

“This great little motel has been recently renovated and is top notch. The bar next door have amazing food and live music a few days a week. Captain bob and the air boat tours are a must. Definitely recommend to stay here if your passing through this area.”

"The den has just been re done with very nice amenities. Small fridge, microwave and very clean room and comfortable beds. The Blue Gator restaurant had very nice live music and great service and staff. We did not rent a boat but the service and prices were very good. Look forward to going back to this locally owned resort. Canoe and kayak rentals one block away."
