First of all, we at WCADP hope that you and your loved ones are staying healthy and well during these extremely challenging times.

​

As you know, since the Washington Supreme Court ruled our state's death penalty statute unconstitutional in October 2018, the focus of WCADP's work has begun to shift from an offensiveto defensive mode. We are once again an all-volunteer organization. We have also made the decision to give up our Seattle office space. However, our work is far from over!Even in the wake of death penalty abolition in Washington, WCADP must stay active and engaged. Looking at the experience of other states, we know there may be attempts to bring the death penalty back in the years to come. Continued public education about the problems of the death penalty will make those reinstatement attempts less likely to gain traction, and maintaining our community of abolitionists will allow the coalition to rally support quickly if such action is ever needed.

We will hold our annual meeting and Board of Directors election in May, through Zoom or other on-line means. Please be on the lookout for more information in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, any mail to us can be sent to the following address:
