Updated for IJF 2018 Rules The Judo Tournament Manager and Score Board have been updated for the 2018 IJF Rules. The Judo Tournament Manager is free to use, but please consider donating viaPayPal by clicking the Donate button above.Judo Tournament Manager is actually two programs in one install package. The Scoreboard Program would be run on a laptop. If you have multiple compitition areas (mats), you would need one laptop per compitition area. The scoreboard can be configured for the following layouts Judo (IJF, USA or AAU rules) Freestyle Judo Jiu Jitsu Sambo The scoreboard can be run stand-alone. For a small tounament or practice in the dojo, this is usually all you need. It supports displaying the scoreboard on a second monitor or a TV connected to the laptop via a video cable. The secondary display can be configured to swap which side the competitors show on. For example, to the person operating the scoreboard, blue may be on the left so that's what they see on the laptop. But the audience looking at the score on the second monitor is sitting on the other side of the mat and facing the other direction, so from their perspective, blue is on the right. The controls are simple and can be run entirely with a mouse, although starting and stopping timers by keypress is a lot quicker. In our own tournaments we've found that having an external USB numeric keypad plugged into the laptop allows one operator to concentrate on starting and stopping timers while another operator uses the mouse to award scores. That way, if the referee yells "Osaekomi" you can get the timer started right away. Rules can be customized. A lot of the rules customizations come from IJF rules changes. For example, a Shido used to award a score to the opponent. The first shido gave your opponent a koka (when we still had koka), second shido took the koka away and gave them a yuko, etc. But several years ago, they changed the rules so shidos don't award a score any more. Should the IJF ever decide to reverse that decision, you can turn that rule back on.Another customization is there simply because nodody can seem to agree if 2 Waza-Aris should show on the screen as 1 Ippon or as 2 Waza-Aris. Either way I do it, I'll get an email from somebody who wants it the other way.News Flash! The IJF is changing the rules again for 2017 2018. The new rules are supported as of build 66 75. The Manager Program - The manager program is usually run at another table on a 2nd laptop. This program allows you to keep track of your competitors and matches and controls which fight comes next. It can display brackets and "upcoming matches" on a second monitor for the audience to see. If you setup a network, you can have the scoreboards talk to the manager. Then before each fight, the scoreboard asks the manager for the names of the competitors and displays them. When the fight is over, the score is reported back to the manager which then takes care of advancing the brackets.The interface for the programs has been translated into the following languages: English (default) Spanish Portuguese (Brazil) Dutch (Belgium) French (Canadian) Italian German UkrainianThese were all done by volunteers translating a text file with all the labelsand then reimporting that file back into the program.SupportIf you have any problems, shoot me an email by clicking the email button at the top of the page.
