TRENTON250!

Trenton250 is Trenton’s long-range Comprehensive Master Plan that will guide the City from now to the 250th Anniversary of its incorporation in 2042. A Master Plan is a blueprint for a municipality that guides decisions for both growth and conservation. 

Explore the Master Plan By 2042, Trenton will be known throughout the region as an attractive, resident-friendly urban environment, where students are well prepared to make economic and social contributions to society, where business and industry stimulate innovation, and where people are active in the arts. The City, County, and State - in partnership with a variety of stakeholders - will work together to be responsive to residents and businesses, invest wisely in civic institutions, and build safe, high-quality public spaces. All together, this will make Trenton a model capital city that citizens, businesses, and government are proud to call home.

 

 

This website allows users to explore the plan's recommendations from three perspectives:

The Plan

The primary path for exploring the Master Plan. "The Plan" allows you to see how the community-driven Vision and Guiding Principles produced actionable Goals, Initiatives, and Actions.

Topic Reports

Topic Reports allow you to explore the plan from a specific perspectives, like Housing or Economic Development. Here you can download PDFs of the various “Elements” of the Master Plan.

District Reports

District Reports allow you to explore the recommendations impact each Planning District. Not all recommendations are addressed in each District Report, only those specifically targeted to the district.

Guiding Principles

The vision statement is supported by seven “guiding principles” that together represent a unified picture of what Trenton will look like and how Trenton will achieve the vision. These statements are an overlapping, mutually reinforcing set of ideas. Each statement is followed by a 1-2 paragraph description that provides context and each will be supported by images, sample quotes from the outreach effort, and similar material. Within each Guiding Principle, you can explore specific goals which will help achieve the guiding principle.
