Adopted this yearDoes PAWS rescue stray animals? We are not a government agency that picks up strays. Due to very limited space at the shelter, admission is strictly reserved for animals involved in cruelty cases pending in court.

We can only rescue animals in emergency cases if there are available volunteers and transportation, and if someone can foster the animal temporarily until space becomes available. What can be done? How do I report animal cruelty or neglect?

Animal cruelty MUST be stopped on the spot, and then reported immediately to your barangay officials and/or police hotline 911. Pet neglect is also a serious offense and irresponsible owners must be held accountable.

In both cases, be prepared to 1) intervene, 2) execute an affidavit, and 3) cooperate with authorities in order to save an animals life and bring offenders to justice.

What is the process? Can I donate/surrender my pet to PAWS?

PAWS does not condone pet abandonment, therefore WE DO NOT ADOPT owned pets. The 200+ animals we have at the shelter are all rescued from cruelty and neglect, and are waiting to be adopted.

If you need to give up your pet for some reason, it is your responsibility to re-home them.

What are my options?Mission

The Philippine Animal Welfare Society exists to prevent cruelty, alleviate pain, fear and suffering in animals and to promote a society based on humane principles.

Vision

PAWS is a credible nationwide non-profit organization, composed of a network of committed, compassionate and trustworthy individuals and institutions that initiates and leads in the promotion of animal welfare, and the protection of all animals. PAWS envisions a nation that respects animals, practices responsible pet ownership, and protects wildlife.
