You will also be in excellent company. Marc was General Manager for many years at the former Rincome Hotel in Chiang Mai, the oldest in the city, and a favourite of the Thai Royal family. (The location has unfortunately now been redeveloped) Luxami was Front Office Manager both at The Rincome, and at the famous Oriental Hotel in Bangkok. Their combined experience and multi-lingual abilities provide an unmatched source of local knowledge which no concierge could ever match. Marc is also the Honorary Consul for Switzerland, and has extensive contacts in the local business, foreign and diplomatic communities.

The nine fully furnished apartments offer a choice of one or two bedrooms, ranging from 60 up to 100 square metres. Each has its own distinctive Northern Thailand or Asian character. Furniture and easy chairs were chosen for aesthetic appeal matched with comfort and practicality. The custom-designed kitchenettes are equipped with every appliance to ensure trouble-free cooking and dining.

Few serviced apartments in Chiang Mai offer this combination of facilities, location, hospitality, tranquillity and management expertise. About Frangipani - A home, not a hotel

A word from your hosts: Marc and Luxami Dumur Utaipol

Having both worked in top-class properties for several decades during our hotel careers, we are delighted to be the proprietors of this nine-apartment building, where our personal satisfaction comes from upholding the true meaning of the word “hospitality”.

Completed in 2006, our structure is an appealing and environmentally-friendly four-storey low rise building in contemporary Lanna style, with gable roofs protecting the windows from direct sun. The fresh white exterior walls are enhanced by dark timber panelling. The main focus is a distinctive entrance structure featuring multi level “salas” or detached private balconies. Parking spaces permit a maximum of six cars.

Here you can expect unobtrusive service, and attention to any small details you may require to make your stay as rewarding and as enjoyable as possible. Between us, we speak a number of languages fluently, including English, Thai, French, German, Swiss-German, and Dutch, plus we also get by with a little Italian and Spanish. Please therefore do not hesitate to ask us for any information or advice. There are very few guest queries or situations we have not already experienced and resolved!
