In every day practice, I actually use British (UK) English - so I'm a paediatrician (not pediatrician!) where I work - and I have a page where you can compare the US and UK spelling of words. The information stays the same even though the condition may be spelt differently. So some answers have he and him, and some answers have she and her. I think it is reads easier than he/she and him/her.
