Coming up on its 50thyear anniversary in 2023, hip-hop has made an indelible mark on the culture, lifestyle, and history of our country. This Fall, the University at Buffalo Arts Collaboratory Working Artists Lab will work with hip-hop legend Grandmaster Flash to explore the origins, innovations and legacy of what may be the greatest art movement of our time.

An exhibition of street art discovered across Buffalo,The City Talks to Itselfpays homage to the origins of Buffalos mural movement and celebrates the independent artists and unsung heroes who devote their time, energy and materials to creating works for the entire city to enjoy. UB alum Josh Federice has created a massive collage for the UBCFA Atrium that features street art found across Buffalo, including highlights from theArts Collaboratorys Street Art Bike Tourin August.

UBs pre-professional dance company will be back on the UB Center for the Arts stages this fall for its 47^th season. Working in close collaboration with THDs Design and Technology students and faculty, the performances will highlight the rich versatility and creativity of the UB Department of Theatre and Dance.

In the Spring of 2021, the Arts Collaboratory welcomed renowned painter Cecily Brown to lead a community driven mural project organized in partnership with Artist/City, Bortolami, NYC.Flight of the Chickadeecan be visited at 450 Masten Avenue in Buffalo and the preparatory drawings are currently on view outside of the Center for the Arts Mainstage Theatre.
