Spencer Rowell is a lens-based artist, psychoanalytic psychotherapist and publisher.
His camera has been a tool of communication for over fifty years and has become a valuablecompanion to his more recent studies in psychoanalysis. These two main areas of practiceand that of the bringing the image into language is the subject of his doctoral research:An Exploration of Pathography within Phototherapy, An Analysis of the Photographic Self-Portrait (2017).
He has been nominated for the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize 2022.
