The Hong Kong Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (HKAPI) submits this opinion paper, on behalf of its 33 member companies engaging in the research and development of novel pharmaceuticals, and providing 70% of treatment drugs in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Association of The Pharmaceutical Industry (HKAPI) held its Annual General Meeting on 2 April 2020 and delighted to announce the formation of the New Board (2020 – 2022). With the continual support from our member companies in sourcing protective equipment all over the world, 17,000 surgical face masks have arrived in Hong Kong on 20 February. All face masks were immediately delivered to the Hong Kong Alliance of Patients' Organisation, the Hong Kong Patients’ Rights Association (Under the Society for Community Organisation (SoCO)), and the Hong Kong Alliance for Rare Diseases to support patients in the current outbreak of Coronavirus disease.
