The Comstock Silver Century premiered in 1989 followed by America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride and Oatbran in 1991. Bike the West provides fun cycling activities in South Lake Tahoe.America's Most Beautiful / Tour de Tahoe Postponed until 2021July 17, 2020Dear Bike the West Participants,America’s Most Beautiful Tour de Tahoe Postponed to 2021The combined 29 th Annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, that was postponed to mergewith the 18 th Annual Tour de Tahoe, scheduled for Sunday, September 13, 2020 has beenpostponed to their traditional dates in 2021. This due to COVID-19 restrictions and setbackswith reopening phases governed by local, county and state health agencies.Many other bicycling event as well as Reno-Tahoe mass participation / spectator events thattraditionally take place at the same time or after our event have been cancelled or postponed…it appears that mass participation sports events, like our ride, will be the last in Phase 4 and inthe order of reopening by local, county and state health agencies. Our rides are challenging tocoordinate in that Bike the West has to coordinate in two states, four counties and four cityjurisdictions in California and Nevada.We are disappointed and I am sure you, as a loyal rider are disappointed as well, as we havebeen working hard to develop rules of the road and rules of the ride to comply with any and allCOVID-19 restrictions, hoping to produce the ride, but we feel this is the responsible and rightdecision to make for the health, safety and welfare of all participants, our volunteers and thelocal community’s surrounding Lake Tahoe.We feel responsible to give timely notice of this postponement for you to adjust your travelplans, lodging arrangements, etc. so that your investment in attending is recoverable…Individuals who still plan to head to Tahoe in absence of this year’s event are welcome to keeptheir booking at Hard Rock Hotel Casino. The resort will honor the special room rates offeredto Tour de Tahoe guests. The resort will also assist those who prefer to cancel or rebook theirrooms for 2021. For any questions or changes to your current reservation, pleaseemail sales@hrhctahoe.com or call 775-589-7666.Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer refunds but will do one better… We will transfer allregistered participants to ride next year, but not just one event, but giving all loyal riders theopportunity to ride both events with a two for one value. The 29 th Annual America’s MostBeautiful Bike Ride will take place on Sunday, June 6, 2021 and the 18 th Annual Tour de Tahoewill take place on Sunday, September 12, 2021.
