The Malden High School Alumni Association is accepting nominations for those to be inducted at a date to be determined as the MHSAA Hall of Fame Class of 2020. President Anthony Dickinson said input from the community is vital because only family, graduates, teachers or administrators or former attendees know who among their colleagues have made exceptional achievements in their chosen careers or made outstanding contributions to society and thus should receive Hall of Fame recognition.Those selected will be honored at an induction ceremony at Anthony’s of Malden, 105 Canal St., Malden, at a date to be determined.Fresh off its highly successful Holiday Pasta supper Party fund-raiser for needy students, the alumni group is seeking the public s help in finding who among the untold legions of MHS graduates deserve to be enshrined. President Anthony Dickinson said input from the community is vital because only family, graduates, teachers or administrators or former attendees know who among their colleagues have made exceptional achievements in their chosen careers or made outstanding contributions to society and thus should receive Hall of Fame recognition.Those selected will be honored at an induction ceremony on Friday, May 1, 2020, at 6 p.m. Anthony’s of Malden, 105 Canal St., Malden.Nomination forms and instructions are available for download on the MHSAA website, www.maldenhighalumni.com. The forms must be completed and submitted no later than March 1, 2020, by mail to MHSAA, P.O. Box 47, Malden, Ma., 02148, or emailed to anthonydickinson@gmail.com.An individual is eligible for nomination 10 years after graduation, or 10 years after attending Malden High School.To be considered, and to help a special Selection Committee make its decision, all applications must be completely filled out including a brief narrative expanding on the specific qualities and achievements of the nominee.The Selection Committee will select the nominees to be honored from the submitted forms as well as from previous nomination forms that are kept in the mix for three event cycles.Inductees are selected for the following categories: Arts, Business, Community Service, Education, Government, Media, Military, Sciences, Technology.The MHS Alumni Hall of Fame was founded in 2014 to recognize exceptional MHS alumni.For further information contact event chair Patricia Kelly, 781-820-4749; the alumni office 781-397-6051; Anthony Dickinson, 781-324-5488; or David Haskell, 781-324-2725.The MHSAA also wants to thank all those who helped make its Holiday Pasta Party and its Biennial Prize Drawing, a success. Since the program was established in 2011 MHSAA has awarded a total of $67,000 to MHS students.MHS Alumni Association’s fundraising programs have also provided resources to help MHS students, who struggle financially, to obtain yearbooks, prom tickets and graduation caps and gowns.
