I truly believe that no writer, dead or alive, could have written the story that 2020 has turned out to be. Earlier this year we had to cancel the remainder of our 2019/2020 season, along with all of our summer youth productions. At the time we were hopeful that come September we could re-open with Mamma Mia! followed by White Christmas in November. WOW! What a line up to kick things off again!Alas, hope was not enough. For a while now, we have been trying to figure out how best to keep the cast, crew, and other volunteers as well as our patrons, audience, and supporters safe. Last week Mayor Hogsett announced Public Health Order 21-2020 which capped attendance for performance venues at 25% of capacity. Coupled with the additional costs for cleaning, PPE and other safety measures and safety concerns, it is apparent that reopening at this time is neither financially viable nor prudent for public safety.Speaking on behalf of the staff, cast, crew and countless volunteers, we want nothing more than to be able to provide you with a temporary escape to a magical place of music and dance.  Meanwhile, the sad reality is that it is better to leave the ghost light on through the end of 2020. It is better to wait a little longer to ensure that we can see all of you again in 2021.If you are a ticket holder for Mamma Mia or White Christmas, you will receive a separate email with additional information regarding options for refunds, exchanges, and donations. You may also reach out to boxoffice@footlite.org for more information.Footlite will continue to adhere to guidance from the CDC, Governor Holcomb, and Mayor Hogsett and will plan to reopen in January.
