Description:

WelcomeThe Saracens Head Inn offers riverside bed and breakfast accommodation, and award winning food, with a traditional pub feel. The Inn has stood for centuries in a spectacular position on the east bank of the River Wye, where the river flows into a steep wooded gorge, on the edge of the Forest of Dean, in Symonds Yat East.We have nine Bed and Breakfast rooms, most of which overlook the glorious River Wye.Symonds Yat East lies between Ross on Wye and Monmouth and The Wye Valley Walk meanders past our door. This family run Inn is popular with walkers, cyclists, canoeists, fishermen and fans of good food and real ales. The Saracens Head Inn is an ideal place to stay to discover The Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, The Welsh Marches, and the Valleys of South Wales. We are within seven miles of the small market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. Abergavenny and the Cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester are also a 30 minute drive away, with Cardiff and Bristol both being accessible within an hour.COVID-19 Update-Wednesday September 23rd 2020The Saracens Head Inn is still fully open for food, drink and accommodation, and although things may be slightly different, we will endeavour to make sure you enjoy your visit here.We have made a few changes and modifications to our COVID19 operating systems, and as time moves on this will be ongoing. We are constantly trying out new practises, so things may change quickly. We do ask for your patience and understanding. Some of these practises are new to us and maybe things may not run as smoothly as we would like them to. If this likely to cause you to be rude, angry, upset or generally unpleasant, it’s probably better for you to go elsewhere (please). The Inn will remain a seated venue only, inside and out.Customers inside the building are required to wear a mask, except when they are sitting at their table. There is table service through the entire site.Drinks or food cannot be ordered from inside the building. We do ask that Social Distancing is observed as best as possible everywhere on the site, and please use the hand sanitizers provided at every available opportunity. The lead person per group will be asked to provide their name and contact number, and time of arrival. A server will take this at your table. Otherwise, there is an app we are using to aid Track and Trace, please scan the code and you will be directed to a page where you can give the name and contact number of the lead member of your group. These codes are on every outdoor table and at entrances/exits.Evening food serving times are from 1800 to 2000hrs, every evening. Government rules state that the premises, including outside, must be vacated by 2200hrs.We respectfully ask that persons from specific lockdown areas do not visit us.If you would like to reserve a table it may be better to email, bookings@saracensheadinn.co.uk, as our telephones are extremely busy, and we are having difficulty keeping up. As usual we do not reserve tables outside.Except for reserved tables inside, payment is to be made at the time of ordering, and by contactless card where possible. If you would like to reserve a room it is easier to do it via the website www.saracensheadinn.co.uk/stay or by emailing bookings@saracensheadinn.co.ukBedroomsArrivals are asked to report to reception where hand sanitisers and screens are installed.Bedrooms are fogged with anti-viral chemical on every changeover.Books, newspapers and magazines are no longer available.Regular touch items are sanitized.Multiple stay rooms are not serviced for reduced staff and customer contact. Customers are encouraged to call reception if they need anything. Room Service is not available.Resident guests are encouraged to use the toilets in their room, as oppose to the public/inn toilets.BreakfastBreakfast tables will be spread over two rooms, the Dining Room and the Lounge. There will not be a buffet; Residents will remain seated and order and be served everything at their table.Breakfast time has been extended from one hour to one and a half hours, to encourage the spread of service. All non-essential touchable items are removed from use. Condiments are all single use and are handed out to the customer rather than grabbed from a bowl by the customer.GeneralOnly one person will be allowed in each toilet room at any one time, if you are seated outside it may be easier to use the public toilets across the Car Park.We ask anyone who is unwell with cold/flu-like symptoms, or who has been in close contact with anyone with such symptoms not to visit the Inn or surrounding area.Regretfully, dogs (except Guide Dogs) are not allowed inside the building at all due to our current restrictions. However, dogs are still permitted on the outside terraces. We cannot reserve tables for, or serve groups of more than 6 persons, anywhere on the premises.Biblins Bridge is NOW OPEN.However, the ferry remains non-operational. We need to conduct safety checks on the infrastructure and decide on the best COVID19 strategy before restarting.Best Wishes,The Team. StayBook a RoomBed and Breakfast in Symonds Yat, Herefordshire and wake-up in the heart of The Wye Valley The Forest of Dean with the River Wye just outside your window. The Inn is just a ten minute drive to Ross on Wye or Monmouth.EatSee Our MenusWe serve a wide variety of dishes that change from season-to-season from our Lunch Menu, Dinner Menu and daily specials board.Sandwiches and filled organic baguettes are also served during lunchtimes.DiscoverRead MoreThe Saracens Head Inn makes an ideal base from which to explore the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean, Brecon Beacons, The Black Mountains and the many castles and other ancient monuments in the area.
