The descriptions are accurate and the cottages that we have rented from them have always been superb. The cottage is charming and stylish and the owners are friendly, helpful and welcoming.The area is very peaceful and quiet with accessible walks in all directions, including to the village of Moniaive which has a great local shop and pub. Areas on the Solway coast are also accessible and definitely worth a visit. I have contacted you on several occasions regarding the revised check in and out times (Covid) which I feel are out of order - a nine hour window for cleaning is excessive and more consideration needs to be given to guests who are travelling. You have not bothered to answer my e mails personally, instead a pro forma statement is sent each time, this is very disappointing. I also find the booking process more difficult than other sites - immediate confirmation doesn't happen, a 'twenty four hour' check notification is sent before confirmation is issued? This doesn't happen with other sites? However, a lovely range of properties on offer! In the middle of the largest crisis that this country has faced since the Second World War, it was not friendly to receive a document from Unique Cottages about our contract. Contracts play two ways. If the Scottish Government had decided not to admit the English for the period of our stay Unique Cottages would have been unable to offer us accommodation, and therefore unable to fulfil the contract. Appreciate that the pandemic caused problems but it was many weeks after we booked before we heard anything and couldn't get hold of them on the phone. Despite no confirmation of the booking, they still took the final payment. We began to wonder whether they were genuine. Lovely relaxing stay, easy access to St Andrews! Excellent amenities! Girls loved the ice machine! Loved the hot tub! Great base to explore Scotland! All necessary documentation was emailed on time.Coronavirus information was updated at times. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment they met us from the boat. They were always happy to help or to have a chat, expressing a passion for their surroundings. They made you feel like family. The booking with unique cottages was without any problems in the time of Covid 19!The Net Store in the beautiful village of Gardenstown was for us a perfect place to relax for two weeks. Good clear website with reliable quality accommodation. We have used this company for several years. I think showing extra fees is a drawback. I prefer the headline price to be the one you are actually charged. This used to be the case but has changed in the last couple of years.
