Welcome to Ormond Beach
Ormond Beach is located on Florida's North Central Coast at the north end of the Daytona Beach area. Ormond Beach is famous for being the location where early automotive pioneers such as Henry Ford tested their automotive innovations on Ormond Beach's hard-packed sand beach.
Ormond Beach still celebrates it's designation as the "Birthplace of Speed" with annual events that reenact the early days of racing on the beach. Vacationers to the area can enjoy swimming and sunbathing on Ormond Beach, canoeing, fishing and viewing a vast array of wildlife at the Tomoka State Park. Ormond Beach also is home to several beachfront and riverfront parks. Looking for a quiet section of the beach? You can find it in the Ormond Beach area as beach driving is not allowed at the northern end of Ormond Beach.
Ormond Beach and the surrounding area have a rich history. Ormond Beach was once in the domain of the Timucuan Indians. Their local village was named Nocoroco and believed to have been located at the site of Tomoka State Park. Ormond Beach is named after James Ormond I, an Anglo-Irish-Scotch sea captain commissioned by Spain to bring Franciscan settlers to the east coast of Florida. Ormond Beach experienced a expansion in tourism after the Civil War when the east coast of Florida became popular for the wealthy seeking to escape northern winters.
Ormond Beach can be reached by air through commercial airlines at Daytona Beach International Airport, Orlando International Airport, or Jacksonville International Airport. Ormond Beach can be easily reached by car. Both I-95 and U.S. Highway 1 pass through Ormond Beach. A1A is a scenic North/South route along the beach.

The cheapest flights are found 54 days out (with one big caveat)
In CheapAir.com’s 2017 Annual Airfare Study, we crunched 921 million air fares, and found that the lowest fare for a given trip changed on average 71 times. That’s about once every 4½ days! And with each change the lowest price went up or down by an average of $33. So, clearly, it matters a huge deal when you choose to pull the trigger on your flight purchase.
