An independent, Nursery through Grade 12 coeducational day school, Trevor Day School educates college-bound students to achieve academic and personal excellence in an inquiry-driven, idea-rich community. Trevor celebrates diversity of thought, experiences, and culture; promotes compassion, collaboration, courage, and creativity; and develops in children a recognition of their own unique potential as lifelong learners and leaders who act as responsible global citizens. Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team for winning the NYCAL League Championship. Trevor's top five finishers, Tim O., Peter M., Jake F., Guiv L., and Malcolm K. ran an average time of 18:52. Their collective efforts secured the victory for Trevor and a well deserved first place finish.Learn More About Trevor Athletics Here at Trevor, children are at the center of all we do. Reisinger - Head of SchoolRead More from Scott Meet Jo. She came to Trevor as a 9th grader and will graduate with the Class of 2021. In many respects, Jo is a quintessential Trevor student with passions ranging from the sciences (biology and chemistry) to the performing arts. Jo is deeply involved in drama, dance, chorus, and A Capella. (She has participated in the Upper School musical and drama, as well as Choreolab.) Jo gives rave reviews to Trevor s arts program, specifically the musical, because I love performing and I have met so many amazing people through this program. I m proud to be a Trevor student because I have experienced so many new things that I never could have imagined otherwise. Meet Zaida, Class of 2020. A Trevor student since Kindergarten, Zaida loves to read realistic fiction and has a passion for dance especially Trevor s student-led dance concert, Choreolab. Her favorite subjects are history and English because they allow her to analyze different forms of writing while expressing her personal opinion. Zaida is a leader of Model Congress and Multiple Identities One World club, and she participates in Students of Color Affinity. She is also a student-athlete, playing volleyball for Trevor Varsity (2018 NYCAL champions) and a club team. Every weekend, Zaida volunteers her time for the Hunter College Special Olympics. Meet Nick, a member of the Class of 2019 who joined Trevor as a 9th grader. English was his favorite subject at Trevor; The Art of Short Fiction was his all-time favorite class. That said, Nick says he most loved reading Shakespeare. He took drama classes for four years. It was my best decision...The teachers are so kind. The drama program and theatre program changed my life. He was captain of Trevor s soccer team and also played basketball and tennis. For his Bridge project, Nick worked in the Lower School s Kindergarten program. Meet Bryn, Class of 2019. Having joined Trevor in 3rd grade, she has treasured relationships with her teachers for the better part of a decade. What I value most at Trevor is the student-teacher relationship. My teachers have not only been incredible role models; they have also been wonderful friends and sources of advice for life... they have always had my back and I m going to miss many of them when I m in college. (That s Barnard College as of this fall.) Bryn s favorite academic subjects have been history and English. She loves diving deep into analyzing texts, and characterizes her Digital History course as life changing...I was able to question texts that I have read before and found out that one true history does not exist. History has many truths. Meet Luke. He came to Trevor as a 6th grader and will graduate with the Class of 2021. Luke is a busy and successful student-athlete. He is the captain of Trevor s two-time league champion golf team and the New York State Junior Golf Champion. He is also a starter on Trevor s JV basketball team. Luke s plans for ten years from today? He d like to be on the PGA Tour and follow that with work in business or engineering. Meet Izzy, a member of the Class of 2019. She s a Trevor lifer having spent her entire lower, middle, and upper education with us. Consequently, Izzy s interests and accomplishments are far-ranging. She equally loved her biology courses (she plans to pursue environmental science), and English (where she saw her writing improve dramatically). Izzy s extracurricular activities were similarly diverse: She was a student- athlete as captain of the varsity volleyball team for her last two years at Trevor, she was awarded all-league as a senior and her club activities included Teen Cancer America and Wild Tomorrow Fund; she was also a peer leader.
