BackgroundIn 2011 the U.S. Department of Labor solicited grant applications for projects that would expand and improve education and career training programs targeting displaced workers. The NSC was awarded the highest level of funding, nearly $20 million.
Targeting regional labor markets, the NSC delivered one-year certificates in five high-demand fields:
