Welcome to the Sphinx Park Improvement Association's website. This site is intended to deliver information to the residents and property owners of Sphinx Park, and raise awareness about issues affecting the community. Events The project is scheduled to run from May 25th to August 15, 2020; the county has contracted out the work which will all take place around the intersection of S Elk Creek Road and Sunset Trail where the creek runs under the road. Two culverts will be replaced: one under the bottom of Sunset Trail and the other under Elk Creek Rd. Along with the culverts, concrete headwalls/abutments will be poured around the ends of the culverts. This fix is projected to last between 50 and 75 years. During the course of the project the plan is to keep at least one lane of traffic open at all times. The contractor will install a stop light system on the one open lane to avoid accidents and keep traffic moving alternately from each direction. Any total road closures - to move equipment and materials - should last for no more than a few minutes. No Spring Meeting Due to the Virus and all - we willnotbe holding the Annual Spring Meeting over the 2020 Memorial Day Weekend ... for those who live in Sphinx Park and those visiting for the summer, the Bucksnort is open for safe at a distance conversation and take out food (no more than a few people at a time allowed inside ...) Here s the latest news: We still need your 2020 dues! Drop off a check with Bob at the Emporium, or Kathi on Stagecoach, or via mail per sheet below. (The dues are the same as last year!) The trash company asked that we leave the doors off the dumpster area ... Jack will come up with some new exciting way to manage the trash enclosure this summer (we hope!). There will be a different look for sure! A new lock combo will be provided to all dues paying members! The water will resume at the end of May (exact date TBD.). Rick Rome is working on it (... it s up and running reportedly today!) The roads survived the winter pretty well - no major washouts! Thanks to all who drive them and fix them! We have been in contact with Elk Creek Fire about wood chipping ... they say their trucks are too big to drive our roads ... we may try to rent a wood chipper to clear out the branches already stacked up ...? Will need volunteers to help feed it? Not much else that I know of - we are still hunkered down - but the weather is nice and the trees are still pretty and green in Sphinx Park!
