Ordovician conodont biofacies of the upper La Silla and San Juan formations (middle Tremadocian-lower Dapingian) at Cerro La Silla, Argentine Precordillera Conodonts from the upper La Silla (9.6 m thick) and San Juan formations (264.7 m thick) at the Cerro La Silla section are analyzed for the identification of faunal dynamics, biofacies and sea-level changes. The conodont collection of 11 388 specimens was recovered after digestion of 41 samples of carbonate rocks, totalizing 88.155 kg. Conodont total abundance and generic diversity graphs, as well as cluster analysis, reveal seven biofacies. The Colaptoconus, Tropodus-Reutterodus, Oepikodus-Prioniodus, Juanognathus-Bergstroemognathus, Juanognathus-Oepikodus-Protopanderodus, Juanognathus-Protopanderodus, Juanognathus-Semiacontiodus biofacies are determined. Sacrifice du cochon ou mise en relation ? Du sang, des signes et des sons dans trois contextes rituels chez les Alangan, les Blaan et les Ibaloy des Philippines Drawing on ethnographic data collected since 2012 among three indigenous groups of the Philippines, in Mindoro, Mindanao and Northern Luzon, and on the Field of Anthropological Study (FAS) approach developed by Dutch anthropologists, this paper discusses the role of the pig in three different rituals. The method of killing the animal and the use of their flesh vary in each society. Techniques and specific gestures apply to each ritual. Yet, the three variants share some homologies and variations. The blood of the pig appears as a substance prone to vehiculate qualities, and it is understood first as a recognizable trait for invisibles beings. Cooked or raw, pig blood immunizes against sickness, or conversely brings luck and prosperity. Évaluation statistique d’un protocole de relevés bryologiques pour inventorier et suivre la biodiversité en forêt Bryophytes are an important component of overall biodiversity in forests, where they colonize a large diversity of supports. In order to assess the evolution of their diversity in time or between different ecological or management contexts, one should apply standardized protocols of data collection, taking into account the diversity of the supports and avoiding any bias to make time or space comparisons possible. Here, we present a standardized protocol to collect bryophyte data up to 2 meters high in temperate forests. We built and tested our protocol within 14 floodplain or mountain temperate forests in France (193 plots). We assessed its feasability by surveying the operators’ feedbacks. Macrofloral and microfloral changes in the Middle Jurassic plant assemblages of the Cianowice 2 borehole (southern Poland) The flora of the Cianowice 2 borehole (c. 20 km NW of Cracow, Poland), dominated by cycadophytes (mainly bennettitaleans) and conifers, shows high taxonomic diversity relative to the low number of specimens. Twenty species were identified in the 96 determinable plant fragments found in 27 core samples: Cladophlebis sp. (ferns), Pachypteris rhomboidalis (Ettingshausen) Nathorst and Ptilozamites cycadea (Berger) Möller (seed ferns), Anomozamites nilssonii (Phillips) Seward, Nilssoniopteris solitaria (Phillips) Cleal  Rees, Otozamites mimetes Harris, Otozamites parallelus Phillips, Pterophyllum thomasii Harris, Pterophyllum cf. aequale (Brongniart) Nathorst, Ptilophyllum cf. A new Late Triassic palynological assemblage from western Gondwana (Carrizal Formation, Marayes Basin, Argentina) The Carrizal Formation, exposed in the Marayes-El Carrizal Basin (western Argentina), has been the focus of palaeobotanical studies since the late 1800s. The recent finding of well-preserved palynological assemblages provides the first detailed studies about its palynofloras. In this paper, the 63 taxa identified in the unit are illustrated and discussed, as well as their stratigraphic distribution in equivalent palynological assemblages of Argentina. Some spore species are revised: Uvaesporites hammenii (Herbst) Césari, comb. nov., Retusotriletes wielandii (Jain) Césari, comb. nov. and Lundbladispora stellae (Herbst) Césari, comb. nov. The recognition of Cadargasporites baculatus de Jersey  Paten emend. Iberoccitanemys atlanticum (Lapparent de Broin & Murelaga, 1996) n. comb.: new data on the diversity and paleobiogeographic distributions of the Campanian-Maastrichtian bothremydid turtles of Europe Bothremydidae is the most abundant clade of turtles in the Campanian and Maastrichtian (Upper Cretaceous) fossil record of southwestern Europe. Several members of Foxemydina Gaffney, Tong  Meylan, 2006 are known in an area that includes Southern France and the North-Eastern half of Spain. The problematic ‘Polysternon’ atlanticum is the worst characterized, lacking a diagnosis that allows its specific validity to be confirmed, and whose generic attribution has been recognized as doubtful. Its presence was exclusively proposed in its type locality, the upper Campanian quarry of Laño, in Treviño County (Burgos Province, North of Spain). New data on Orthotrichum gigantosporum Lewinsky (Orthotrichaceae, Bryophyta), a widespread northern Andean-Patagonian endemic moss The moss family Orthotrichaceae is still poorly known in the southern extreme of South America. This is especially true regarding the morphological variability, geographical distribution, and ecological affinities of the species restricted to the Andean-Patagonian area. These deficiencies are addressed for Orthotrichum gigantosporum Lewinsky, one of the least known and most interesting endemics of the area. After examining the rich collections made by our team in southern Chile and Argentina, we have found numerous new localities for the species. Orthotrichum gigantosporum has proven to be a widespread moss in the forests and scrublands of the northern sector of the Andean-Patagonian area. Exceptionally preserved calcified sponge assemblages in Upper Jurassic carbonates of the eastern Getic Carbonate Platform (Southern Carpathians, Romania) A rich poriferan assemblage was identified within the easternmost part of the Getic Carbonate Platform of Romania (Grădiștei Gorges). The excellent preservation state of most poriferans here led to the discovery of a new species (Neuropora gigantea Pleș Schlagintweit, n. sp.) and to the identification of previously unknown diagnostic features in some species (Sarsteinia babai Schlagintweit  Gawlick, 2006 emend., Neuropora lusitanica Termier, 1985, Sphaeractinia steinmanni Canavari, 1893). Calciagglutispongia yabei Reitner, 1992, Sarsteinia babai and Sphaeractinia steinmanni are reported for the first time from the Upper Jurassic carbonates of the Getic Carbonate Platform. Bird remains from the Middle Paleolithic levels (MIS3) of Llonin Cave (Peñamellera Alta, Asturias, Spain) Birds are abundant in fossil assemblages of Quaternary sites; they can be used in landscape reconstruction as they are well adapted to the environment. Epiphytic bryophyte communities of forests dominated by Alnus glutinosa (L.) Gaertner in Altindere Valley National Park (Trabzon, Turkey) The epiphytic bryophyte communities of the Altindere Valley (Maçka, Trabzon, Turkey) were studied. A total of 59 relevés, taken from living tree trunks in different vegetation periods of 2018 and 2020, were analysed according to the Braun-Blanquet methodology, and the relevés were also ordinated and classified using the Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DECORANA) and the Two-Way Indicator Species Analysis (TWINSPAN). As a result of the analyses, Alleniella besseri-Leucodontetum immersi as. nov., Plagiomnio undulati-Raduletum lindbergianae typicum and P.-R. leucodontetosum sciuroidis subas. nov. (Neckerion complanatae) were described and characterised as a new epiphytic. Lithophyllum artabricum V.Peña, sp. nov. (Corallinales, Rhodophyta): a cryptic species in the Atlantic Iberian Peninsula hitherto assigned to Lithophyllum stictiforme (Areschoug) Hauck Lithophyllum stictiforme (Areschoug) Hauck contributes to the formation of the Mediterranean coralligenous concretions. In the Atlantic Iberian Peninsula, L. stictiforme has also been reported based on subtidal collections showing the characteristic morphology described for this species. Recent studies uncovered a diverse complex of cryptic species from the Mediterranean Sea assigned to L. stictiforme. Thereafter, the Atlantic Iberian collections have been re-assessed with the aim of clarifying its taxonomic status. Based on molecular (COI, psbA) and morphological data, the new species Lithophyllum artabricum V.Peña, sp. nov. is described herein. Un Pterostylis R.Br. nouveau (Orchidaceae, Orchidoideae, Cranichideae) de Nouvelle-Calédonie A new species from New Caledonia, Pterostylis longilabia M.Pignal, sp. nov. is described and illustrated. Morphological characters that distinguish the new taxon from the related species, P. ophioglossa R.Br. are essentially a lip of the same length as the median sepal, without basal extension (instead of a shorter lip with a fimbriated extension at its base) and a narrowly angled sinus between the synsepals (instead of a rounded or open-angle sinus). Due to the high threats to its locality, the proposed IUCN conservation status is EN (Endangered). An identification key is given for New Caledonian Pterostylis species in English and French.
