Saribuhay is a Filipino term for biodiversity.
The series, which will air in November, will tackle the accomplishments of the four sub-programs: terrestrial (flora and fauna) biodiversity, marine biodiversity, indigenous plants, and native animals biodiversity. The program, as a whole, aims to sustain and take care of the Philippines’ biodiversity through formulation of policies in the access and benefit-sharing of our genetic resources.

DOST-PCAARRD, BuCor, launch reformation program for PDL of New Bilibid PrisonPDL or persons deprived of liberty under the Minimum-Security Compound (MinSecCom) of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) now have a new reformation project, wherein they are tasked to manage broiler and layer chicken production.
The project, “Village-scale Chicken Meat and Egg production System Project” was introduced to the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) by the Livestock Research Division of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).
The reformation project is a pre-release reformation program for the PDL that showcases profitability and sustainability of a village-scale meat and egg production system for the BuCor community. It ensures food availability while generating some income during and after this pandemic. It officially started in December 2020.

PoliSiyensya hopes to generate more science-informed policies to advance PH agri-aqua sectorA program will help develop the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector through bridging and strengthening science and policy-making. The program, called PoliSiyensya, is an initiative of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).
PoliSiyensya was launched on October 26, 2021 via Facebook Live in the DOST-PCAARRD Facebook page.
“Responding to the need for a more aggressive policy advocacy, we are launching PoliSiyensya, an umbrella program integrating our Policy Analysis and Advocacy initiatives,” said DOST-PCAARRD Executive Director Reynaldo V. Ebora. “Through PoliSiyensya, we aim to advance more science-informed and foresight-driven policy development. Using the wealth of knowledge generated from RD, we will intensify our efforts in advocating science-based policy reforms.”

Sustainable home and community gardens flourished in Isabela amid COVID-19 pandemicThe Isabela province benefited from the 200 home gardens and 60 community gardens established through the GALING-PCAARRD program. This initiative is funded by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).
The project, “ST-based Home Gardening towards a Sustainable Source of Food for Families,” led by Dr. Florenda B. Temanel of the Isabela State University (ISU), aims to provide a sustainable source of food for families in different communities to complement the Pagkain at Kabuhayan sa Pamayanan (PKP). PKP is a component of the DOST-PCAARRD’s Good Agri-Aqua Livelihood Initiatives Towards National Goals (GALING-PCAARRD) Kontra COVID-19 Program.
