Who we AreCELA is comprised of over 120 institutions and individuals who have interest in the preparation of landscape architects for global practice. CELA's 11 regions primarily cover North America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the Pacific Rim, but its outreach is worldwide. From this web site, viewers may access links to CELA-member institutions which in-turn can lead to contact information or web pages for the hundreds of faculty who comprise the bulk of participants in CELA. CELA's Board of Directors consists mainly of academic practitioners with strong commitments to teaching, research / scholarly works and service. Many hold administrative positions at their institutions. CELA recognizes and celebrates accomplishments in these areas through annual awards to faculty who perform at exceptionally high levels. Please review CELA member institutions and CELA Leadership on this website for more information. Our Purpose The purpose of CELA is to further education in landscape architecture specifically related to teaching, research/scholarly works, and service. We do this by engaging in scholarly activities between students, faculty and public/private practitioners. The development and management of curricula, the generation and diffusion of knowledge, and the promotion of public health, safety and welfare are key to our purposes. CELA is an international organization comprised of institutions and individuals that meet annually to disseminate the latest thinking and findings through refereed presentations and papers. Twice a year, CELA publishes Landscape Journal, the preeminent scholarly journal in the field. CELA also posts on its website Landscape Research Record, a refereed compilation of full papers from each annual CELA conference.
