Since my last update in December, HMPPS have released another two weeks worth of data on infection levels in prisons in England and Wales. The government’s avid enthusiasm for electronic monitoring in criminal justice is clear. More than a quarter of all prisoners in England and Wales are held in prisons built in the Victorian era.
