So what tools do you use often enough to possibly worship?

I think for me it would have to be my crochet hooks and bead mat.No comments: Tuesday, March 26, 2013 Today is Poet Robert Frost's Birthdayand here is one of his poems for you to enjoy.A Prayer in Spring Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil.

So what would you plan today if you could? Why? Everything is shiny and new and full of possiblities. Your calendar might not be stuffed to the gills with layers and layers of appointments on it. You might be thinking of decluttering or trying to be prepared for next Christmas or tax time as it begins to show up on everyone's radar or as your reflecting back on 2012 with any and all changes it brought to you. So what better time to take a good look at the paperwork of your life?If your notsure what I'm talking about then check out my post here and here.

What changes did the 2012 year bring to you? Did you have additions or subtractions from your family? Where you blessed or did you barely get through? Was there a marriage or divorce? Is there any thing that happened that might legally impact you? Ex. death, birth, marriage, divorce, health issues, insurance changes, needs for Power of Attorney, adoption, graduation, etc. etc. Do you have aging relatives that need to be taken care of? Use these questions to get you started thinking about what has changed in the last year and then ask yourself the really tough question "If I wasn't here tomorrow what would my ___ (wife/husband, mother/father, children, etc) need to know?" or "If I had a medical crisis of a heart attack or stroke what would my ___ need to know?" Is it up to date? Is everything still in the same location?

This may sound like a lot of busy work and a time eater but trust me doing it now will be worth it in the long run. The very 1st time I did this it took me a few weeks to pull it all together. But now that I've done the inital bit of work and spent all those hours putting it together, it's not been so bad to update each year. I foresee 4 hours being spent on the paperwork review this year maybe a little more or a little less as not a lot has changed. I do know that I have three new items to add to my life paperwork at some point this month but that is on another's scheduleas I am getting into power of attorney stuff for elder care and getting off of some thingsfor a person who's coming of age. I will say that both of these tasks would be so much harder if I hadn't gotten my life paperwork together and kept it up to date.

So again I urge you Please, Please, Please, check and make sure your life's paperwork is in order.

No comments: Monday, December 31, 2012 Out with 2012...In with 20132012 was a tough year over all. Lots of changes happened some were good and others were down right horrible. Lessons were learned some good, some bad and some were obviously a repeat from other times.

The good that happened this year is we have finally got a working diagnoses. it's not a great onebut it's better thanwhat we've been dealing with in the form ofsome unknown, faceless monster stalking and attacking us. We will be adjusting to a new normal now and making some important changes as treatments and pills and torture I mean therapies get underway.

It's amazing to see the power that being reunited with family has. I can't stop smiling as I witness the joy and worth given to another simply because they've been reunited with a family member. It's amazing to see the changes that happen when someone goes from feeling like they don't belong to anything or anyone to feeling like they are part of something. Many important lessons have been learned as missing puzzle pieces have clicked into place at last. Many lessons will be coming from this in the future I'm sure, as the people involvedlearn to navigate a new path. I wonder what the new pattern in the fabric of their lives will look like...I'm blessed that I got to witness this.

The number of funeral invites crept up to more than I care to see in a year but far less than have been experienced in a years time frame. Obviously the lesson learned here is life is short and you never know when your time will come so you should treat every day as if it's your last. I got to work on this. I got to let my family and friends know that I love them and care for them a lot even though I may not say it. I got to work on that. I got to quit putting off seeing people and talking on the phone with people because I may never get a chance to see them or speak with them again and regret isn't something that is easy to live with.

That's just a little bit of what 2012 had.

Welcome 2013

What lessons and magic do you have in store for us this year? What dreams will come true? What hardships will be taken away? What glorious times will I get to witness this year? I'm kind of excited to find out.
